Teams: You are welcome to choose to work as a team, in pairs, or as an individual. It will depend on how many students or players that will be joining in on the fun.
The Test: Set an allowed amount of Candy Canes in hidden areas all over the backyard (or space where the activity will be held).
With lots of candy canes spread out in the backyard or at the park the players will need to find them.
For example, they could be put in trees, bushes, and places you won’t expect!
The kids will love searching and the boy or girl that find the most cane canes could win a special prize!
If you are playing inside the home perhaps the following places would work for fun hiding spots.
- Cereal Box
- Couch cushion
- Curtain
- Drawer
- Refridgerator
If you are playing in a doctor’s office, dentist office, or classroom? Perhaps one of these choices may help!

In fact, you could take it a step further and instead of the players just looking for candy canes and spotting them. You could make the hunt for different levels of ages.
For example, perhaps making clues to find the candy canes if the places are tricky to find.
Another way, if you want to make it even hard is make coded clues. Therefore, the kids will have to figure out the clue and then find the candy cane.
We hope you enjoyed these ideas! Have fun hosting and inviting your crew to your next holiday hunt!
