Grab:
- Your Thanksgiving Emoji Game printable
- Printer paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- A timer or phone
- Optional prizes for the winner
FUN TIP: Print the emoji cards on cardstock if you want them to last longer.
You could also laminate them and save the game for next Thanksgiving.
Look at you already being prepared for next year. 😂👏
How to Play the Thanksgiving Emoji Game
Start by printing and cutting out the Thanksgiving emoji cards.
Spread all of the cards face-up on a table.
Give the first player a short amount of time to study the cards and memorize where each emoji is located.
For younger kids, try giving them about 60 seconds.
For older kids and adults?
Ohhhh, we’re making this harder. 😂
Give them around 20 to 30 seconds.
When the memorizing time is over, turn the cards face-down.
Now the player starts flipping over cards and trying to find the matching Thanksgiving emoji pairs.
Keep track of how long it takes them to find every match.
Reset the cards and let the next person try.
The person who finds all of the matching emojis in the fastest time WINS! 🏆
Make the Thanksgiving Emoji Game Even Funnier
The basic version is great.
But this is Get Your Holiday On.
We can make it sillier. 😂
The Gobble Rule
Pick the wrong match?
You have to gobble like a turkey before flipping another card.
Gobble with confidence.
Turkey Dance Penalty
Miss two matches in a row?
Stand up and perform your finest five-second turkey dance.
No talent required.
In fact, lack of talent probably makes this significantly better.
Speed Round
Give players only 15 seconds to memorize the cards before turning them over.
This is especially fun for teenagers and adults who were VERY confident about their memory five minutes ago. 😂
Team Thanksgiving
Pair kids with adults and compete in teams.
This works especially well if you have younger children who may need help remembering where the cards are located.
Thanksgiving Emoji Game for Kids

This is a great Thanksgiving game for kids because they don’t need to read complicated instructions to understand what’s happening.
They’re matching pictures they already recognize.
Use the game for:
- Thanksgiving classroom parties
- Family Thanksgiving dinner
- Friendsgiving
- Church Thanksgiving celebrations
- Homeschool activities
- Thanksgiving playdates
- Fall parties
- Kids’ tables
You can even leave it set up at the kids’ table while everyone is waiting for dinner.
Because apparently telling a six-year-old that dinner will be ready “soon” means you will be asked again every 42 seconds. 😂
Create a Thanksgiving Game Station
If you’re hosting a larger Thanksgiving gathering, don’t stop with one game.
Create an entire Thanksgiving Game Station where kids and adults can pick something to play throughout the day.
After the Emoji Game, pull out my Roll a Turkey Dice Game.
Players roll a die and collect the corresponding turkey pieces until somebody completes their turkey first.
It’s ridiculously simple, but just WAIT until someone has every turkey piece except the ONE number they cannot seem to roll.
Suddenly Thanksgiving has turned into a championship sporting event. 😂🎲🦃
Get Everybody Moving With the Turkey Feather Game
Need to get the kids OUT of their chairs for a little while?
Try my Turkey Feather Party Game.
You hide colorful turkey feathers around the playing area, send the kids racing to find them, and then reveal which secret feather color wins the round.
It’s basically a Thanksgiving scavenger hunt, race, and luck game all rolled into one.
And after sitting around matching emojis, it’s the perfect excuse to get everybody moving.
Try the Great Turkey Trot Challenge
If the adults are willing to get ridiculous too, you need to play The Great Turkey Trot Challenge.
This Thanksgiving party game gets kids, teenagers, parents, grandparents, and that ONE uncle who takes every family game far too seriously up and moving.
There are feather-balancing challenges.
There is turkey waddling.
There will probably be questionable athletic ability.
It’s Thanksgiving entertainment at its finest. 😂🦃
Play the Thanksgiving Left Right Game After Dinner
Once everybody has eaten enough turkey to require stretchy pants, switch to something they can play without running around.
My Thanksgiving Left Right Game is inspired by the classic Hot Potato game with a Thanksgiving twist.
Players pass a turkey around the circle while music plays.
When the music stops, somebody is getting eliminated.
It’s easy to explain, works with a group, and is a fun choice when you have both kids and adults playing together.

Thanksgiving Game Prize Ideas

Will announcing that there’s a prize suddenly make everyone care WAY more about finding a matching corn emoji?
Absolutely. 😂🌽🏆
For kids, try:
- Thanksgiving stickers
- Mini fidget toys
- Fall pencils
- Candy
- Small activity books
- Temporary tattoos
- Mini treat bags
- Small craft kits
