How Get Your Holiday On Started
I’ve always loved coming up with ways to make holidays and everyday moments feel a little more special.
Sometimes that’s planning a big celebration.
Sometimes it’s finding a hilarious party game that gets everyone laughing.
And sometimes it’s simply surprising my kids with something completely unexpected because… why not? 😂
That love of creating memorable moments eventually grew into Get Your Holiday On.
What started as a place to share fun ideas has grown into a resource for families, parents, party planners, teachers, and anyone else who believes celebrations are better when people are actually having FUN.

Life Behind the Blog
When I’m not working on Get Your Holiday On, life is usually pretty busy.
I’m a mom of five, so there is rarely a shortage of personalities, activities, celebrations, messes, laughter, or inspiration around here.
And honestly, that’s part of what inspires so many of the ideas you’ll find on this site.
I love doing things with my kids, discovering new places, giving gifts, planning surprises, trying ridiculous games, and finding simple ways to turn ordinary days into something they’ll hopefully remember.
Not everything has to be Pinterest-perfect.
Sometimes the best memories are the ones where everybody is laughing so hard nobody remembers who actually won the game.
Those are my kind of moments.
Why I Create Get Your Holiday On
I want you to be able to come here when you need an idea and think:
