Are you looking for ideas on what to do during visits? As a foster parent each week the children in our care have visitation visits with bio parents. Visitation hours very often times from 2 hours, 4 hours, or more.
What To Do During Visits
Currently, I want to give you ideas that will help you with ideas on what to do during visits between foster children and biological parents.
After almost 2 years of experience as a foster mom and four different placements. I can understand how visiting hours can be boring (while you wait) and wear on you.
At our agency and I believe most states you are allowed to drop the children off and leave the visitation center.
With that in mind. I try to plan my weekly grocery shopping trips around the 2 hours my fs has visited.
However, there are times that I take advantage of the Wal-Mart online grocery pick up! Ever tried it? It’s amazing!
Tip: Real fast, if you haven’t tried it. As a mom and foster mom, with 4 kids it can be so helpful!
Plus, I’m less likely to grab extra sugary snacks I don’t need by using this service. Just in case! 🙂

Since we have grocery shopping out-of-the-way! Let’s add in some other ideas.
In fact, have you thought about trying out a restaurant that could be a little further from the agency that you’ve wanted to try?
For example, one of our local bigger cities is about 20 minutes from the agency. When we drive there we try out new restaurants.
Typically, a restaurant could take around an hour to an hour and 15 minutes to get your food and eat.
Perfect opportunity to try out a new hot spot!
