Akron Zoo Review
Lions, Tigers, and Akron Zoo Review oh my! Ready for this? Did you know that the Akron, Ohio Zoo has more than 700 animals? My kids were in awe of everything they did this summer! This was just the icing on the cake! You have Penguins, Monkeys, Bears, and so many more animals to see!
The Akron Zoo’s Summer Season is open from April – October! Yay! It is the perfect time of year to stroll around with your family. Enjoy the sites on those beautiful spring, summer, and fall days.
Experience the Akron Zoo
Something I didn’t know about the Akron Zoo is that there is a “Smell Station.” It is also known as the EWWW! @ The Zoo. This station is seriously mind-blowing! At first, it’s like the word describes… EW!
I do have to say the kids had the best time going around and smelling the different functions from animals.
You would have the boys saying, “Smell this one it smells so good!” The girls would smell it and say, “P.U!” LOL, It would make them laugh and the girls gross out! Haha! Overall that made me chuckle. There is also a fun car in front of the station that the kids can pretend to ride on. I was having just as much fun as they were watching them use their imagination as they raced as Lightning Mcqueen in their minds.
Things to Do At Akron Zoo
There are so many things to visit at the Akron Zoo. This includes exhibits, get up close and personal with the animals, there is a touch tank, a train, and also a Carousel. You also have the option to be an Akron Zoo Member!
Zoo members receive great perks like one-year unlimited access to the zoo starting from the date it was purchased as well as free parking at the zoo. You would also get reduced entry price to all major zoos in Ohio as well as at over 100 zoos and aquariums across the country. Which if you ask me is a really great option!
Wrapping Up The Akron Zoo Review
The Akron Zoo was a lot bigger and packed with many more animals than I thought prior to getting there. My kids had a ton of fun playing in the play area, visiting the animals, and learning from the employees speaking about the animals in the exhibits. I do have to say, we couldn’t leave the zoo without trying out the really cool Carousel.
It was a must do! I mean how cool is it to see a Lion in person and then get to go and take a ride on one? It was a lot of fun! I recommend checking out the Akron Zoo and visiting with your family!

I always loved going to the zoo when I was a little kid. My favorite animal to see was a white tiger that we had at our zoo.

Sounds like it was such a blast for the kiddos! I’ve gotta say, a smell station sounds like something I’d probably want to stay away from 😝
