We originally made this game for some outdoor family fun, and let’s just say… walking in Bigfoot’s shoes is a whole lot harder than it looks. 😂

This easy Bigfoot party game is perfect for birthday parties, school field days, family reunions, summer parties, camping trips, backyard fun, and even adults who aren’t afraid to look completely ridiculous for a few minutes.

The best part? You can make the giant Bigfoot feet yourself with cardboard and a handful of inexpensive supplies.

What Is the Hilarious Bigfoot Game?

The Hilarious Bigfoot Game is a DIY racing game where players wear enormous cardboard feet and try to make their way from the starting line to the finish line.

But these aren’t just ordinary cardboard feet.

We attached sandals to the cardboard so players can actually wear them and added colorful plastic balls across the toes.

The result?

A pair of ridiculously oversized Bigfoot feet that are almost impossible to walk gracefully in. 😂

Players can race one at a time against the clock or compete head-to-head to see who can cross the finish line first.

It’s simple enough for kids but funny enough that you’ll absolutely want the adults to take a turn too.

Supplies for Your DIY Bigfoot Feet

You don’t need anything fancy to make this Bigfoot game. We used mostly inexpensive supplies and cardboard we already had.

You’ll need:

• Large, sturdy cardboard box
• Old sandals or flip-flops
• Strong tape
• Scissors or a utility knife for adult use
• Hot glue gun – A strong glue gun makes attaching the sandals and toes much easier. [See the hot glue gun I recommend → Hot glue gun]
• Hot glue
• Black marker
• Plastic ball-pit balls – These make the funniest oversized Bigfoot toes. [Shop the colorful plastic balls we used → Colorful plastic ball-pit balls ]

Bigfoot Game Tip: Use thick cardboard if you’re planning to play outside. Flimsy cardboard bends much faster once everyone starts stomping around.

How to Make Giant Bigfoot Feet

Step 1: Cut Your Cardboard

Find the biggest sturdy cardboard box you can.

Cut the box apart so you have two large flat pieces of cardboard… one for each Bigfoot foot.

The bigger the feet, the funnier the game gets. Just remember that players still need to be able to move safely while wearing them.

Step 2: Draw Your Giant Bigfoot Feet

Place a sandal near the center of the cardboard so you can estimate where the player’s actual foot will sit.

Use a pencil or black marker to draw one enormous Bigfoot-shaped foot around it.

Give your Bigfoot five BIG toes.

Once you’re happy with the shape, cut it out.

Don’t Make My Two-Left-Feet Mistake 😂

Before tracing the second foot, FLIP your first cardboard foot over.

Ask me why I’m emphasizing this.

Apparently I was so busy creating Bigfoot that I forgot how human feet work.

Did I start over?

Absolutely not.

We strapped those babies on and played anyway… and honestly, the two left feet made the whole thing even funnier.

So learn from me: make one left foot and one right foot.

Or don’t.

Bigfoot doesn’t judge. 😂👣

Step 3: Attach the Sandals

Position one sandal in the center of each cardboard foot.

The sandal should sit far enough back that there’s plenty of room in front for Bigfoot’s giant toes.

Secure each sandal firmly to the cardboard using strong adhesive.

Before anyone races, test the sandals and make sure they don’t easily pull away from the cardboard.

Step 4: Make Bigfoot’s Toes

Now we get to the hilarious part. Arrange five colorful plastic balls across the front of each cardboard foot.

These become Bigfoot’s giant toes.

Glue each ball securely in place and let everything dry completely before playing.

The colorful toes aren’t exactly scientifically accurate Bigfoot anatomy…

but we’re making a ridiculous backyard game here, not filming a documentary. 😂

Step 5: Let the Bigfoot Feet Dry

Let all glue dry completely before anyone puts the feet on.

Once everything feels secure, gently test each sandal and toe.

If anything wiggles loose now, fix it before the race starts.

How to Play the Bigfoot Game

Once your giant feet are ready, it’s time for the REALLY fun part.

Find a flat, open playing area and mark a starting line and finish line.

Have each player step into their Bigfoot sandals.

When everyone is ready…

3… 2… 1… GO!

Players make their way toward the finish line while keeping both giant feet underneath them.

The first Bigfoot across the finish line wins!

It sounds incredibly easy until you’re actually standing there with two giant pieces of cardboard attached to your feet. 😂

Safety tip: Keep the course flat and free of holes, rocks, toys, and other obstacles. Younger children should have adult supervision, and players should walk rather than run if the oversized feet make balancing difficult.

Bigfoot Game Rules

1. Players must keep both Bigfoot feet on during the race.
2. Start behind the designated starting line.
3. No carrying the cardboard feet with your hands.
4. Players must cross the designated finish line.
5. If a Bigfoot toe falls off, decide before the game whether the player can keep going or has to retrieve it.
6. First Bigfoot across the finish line wins!

Then:

Don’t take the rules TOO seriously.

Half the fun is watching everyone’s Bigfoot feet go completely rogue. 😂

4 Ways to Play the SAME Bigfoot Game

1. Classic Bigfoot Race

Two players race head-to-head. First across the finish line wins.

2. Timed Bigfoot Challenge

Only have one pair of Bigfoot feet?

Perfect.

Time each player individually and write down their results. The fastest Bigfoot wins.

This could also naturally support Minute to Win It searches without turning the article into a separate Minute to Win It post.

3. Bigfoot Relay Race

Divide everyone into teams. Each player completes the course, returns to the starting line and passes the Bigfoot feet to the next teammate.

First team to finish wins.

Do NOT write another 500 words about this.

Keep it a variation.

4. Don’t Lose Your Toes Challenge

Want to make the race even more ridiculous?

If one of Bigfoot’s colorful toes falls off, the player has to stop and retrieve it before continuing.

First player across the finish line with all their toes wins.

Bigfoot takes toe preservation very seriously. 😂
