We love coming up with activities to do as a family to get outdoors and off electronics. If you are anything like that, you’ll love this hilarious bigfoot game, race against dad for the fastest bow, and this flour bomb battle!
Do you ever think about how fast your kids are growing? Me too, I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately, and it’s like a blink of an eye; I have a high schooler, a kid in junior high, and an elementary student. I love doing activities with my kids that we can do as a family.
With each of them having different personalities, it can be hard to find things all three want to do. With that said, every one of us jumped on board when it came to race car monster truck games. So much so for Christmas, Santa may just be bringing one of these to each person in our family!
We picked up inexpensive monster trucks (just like these) and decorated them with items we had lying around the house. In addition to that, we each picked out a name for our monster trucks:
- Blue Crush
- Toy Story Smash
- Killer Shark
- Spikey
- Tank
We picked a day that we were going to race and rain or shine, we stuck with it!
The kids had all week to decorate their vehicles and get ready for race day!
Fun Tip!
Picking up monster trucks on clearance at Walmart for $2.99 helped keep the price low with this fun racing activity for us.
Race Mini Monster Truck
When using the same frequency, vehicles will not function close together. This is something to keep in mind when you are using the same frequency. Therefore, we had to take turns with two people racing simultaneously instead of all racing at once.
When it came to racing, we would stand at the starting line, and whichever monstertruck crossed the finish line first won. Since it was Halloween, we had mini skeleton heads that we used for this project. We turned it into a Halloween party game with the winner smashing into a bucket full. This was fun because they would fly everywhere—another great use to using supplies from around the house.
