How to Play a Game with Christmas Bows
It is so fun and easy to play. Perfect for big or small family Christmas games. We are happy to teach you how to play a game with Christmas bows! It will certainly brighten any grinches mood. At least, we hope. If you are looking for more party games like that check out this hilarious bigfoot game, Trail of Ghost farts, and Eyeballs on the trees!
As a mom and foster mom, you never know when you need to brighten a mood or four grinches around here, and making games like this is excellent for that.
It’s one of the simplest DIY games you will ever play, but it does matter what age group you are playing it with because it can be tricky to get the tab off the back of the bow.
Little ones, such as toddler age, would have trouble with that. I suggest either having the sticky tabs removed or adding tape to the back of the bow before starting the activity.
Bow Tip!
During this game, the bow size I like best is the one shown here, which is easy to place on the shirt and fits comfortably in your hands.
However, the game’s objective makes it fun, too, because you race to see who can get the most bows on the opponent’s back.

Here’s another fun printable game for you to play – Roll a TREE REX!
TREE REX GAME
Build a Tree Rex body by rolling a dice and adding the corresponding dinosaur piece. Whoever builds their dinosaur first wins!

In our neighborhood, we played it in the backyard, parents versus kids, and to top it off, it was in our pajamas and it became our go-to game of choice for playing games on Christmas day, but we’d definitely play it at a party as well.

What is a game with Christmas bows?
It’s a fun DIY game that you can play at Christmas time. It allows you to enjoy celebrating the holidays, gifts, Santa, and entertainment! And something we came up with for a family fun activity and a free Christmas game.
Tip: Make a game out of it for a birthday, Valentine’s day, or another special occasion too. Just pick the colors that would most likely go with the party theme or design.
For example, on Valentine’s Day, you may want to choose silver, red, pink, and white bows.
Rules of How to Play a Game with Christmas Bows
Now that you know what, you need to play the game. Simply Christmas bows & players! How awesome is that? Get ready for the easy rules, lol.
To start, you will need at least 2-4 players (or more).
Next, put a minute on the clock!
One player will need to have a bag of bows, and the other player will need to have their back turned.
For example, in the photo below.
Lastly, you have one minute to fill the back of the shirt with as many Christmas bows as possible.
The player with the most bows on the opponent’s shirt back within a minute wins the game!
In addition to racing your opponent, you could have someone from the sidelines tossing bows to be silly. Then, if you catch them, you could use them on the shirt.
We had a fun time playing it! Even Dad jumped in for fun!
Minute to Win it Christmas Games
This other Minute to win it Christmas game idea includes four players and two teams.
However, this way, you could either put a minute on the clock or have the same amount of bows (for example, this 130 gift bows bag). ⬅️Do you think that’s a good deal for bows?
Whichever racer fills the shirt up with the quickest time will win a cool prize!
Perhaps, if you don’t have any decoration bows but have a printer?
We give you a free printable with Christmas bows on it. The bows are gold for added fun!
Just click and print the printable. Then, cut the bows out and add tape. That’s it!

I have never played this! I think this would be perfect for my kids’ school parties. Thank you
Hi Jody,
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for stopping to see the game. I hope you find many more game ideas that fit your needs. 🙂
This is absolutely adorable. Every Christmas my kids and my nephews raid the house looking for cool crafts and games we can play with after dinner. We usually end up making our own games. It’s always fun no matter what – but this is actually brilliant. We can utilize the bows we already have or just bring our left over bows (which we always have). Such a great idea. The kids will love it!
Awe. Thank you so much, Deb! I am so glad it gave you a fun idea to do with your children and nephews. Yay! I hope you all have a wonderful time playing this game! 🙂
So cute! Love this simple and fun idea! And festive too! 😉
Thank you! 🙌🎅😊
This game sounds so easy and fun..! It is just a matter of speed to win the game. It’s definitely for all ages. Gotta try this.
It is definitely easy and fun! We had a really good time playing it. 🙂 The kids loved it!!! 🙂
This is a cute game. Husband so wouldn’t play but his uncle would haha.
LOL. It is a lot of fun. 🙂
This looks like fun! Do you have any idea about how many bows are used in a minute? Trying to figure out how many bows would be needed for a school party?
Thank you so much, Lisa! 🙂 In one minute our average was about 10 bows with peeling the tabs off the back of the bow. However, if you want to reuse the bows or already have the tabs pulled off the back. The average was around 22. I’d love to hear if you beat our score. 🙂 This game is a lot of fun. Thank you for stopping in and trying our idea.
