Don’t scratch this Lottery Christmas Tree of your list! You don’t need the North Pole when you have Get Your Holiday On!
Lottery Christmas Tree
First, this lottery Christmas tree will be a top pick for your White elephant exchange! My family went nuts over this tree! Even though it was little… size doesn’t matter! It’s the lottery tickets that counts lol.
Have you ever made a raffle basket, money gift basket, or put lottery tickets in a card or gift box? We put a spin on scratch offs with creating them for ornaments for a tree.
In fact, the best part is you don’t only have to make this tree at Christmas time! These are perfect for a fundraiser or an auction!
What is a Lottery Christmas Tree
A Lottery Christmas tree is a DIY gift for the lucky gamblers in your life! A tree covered with scratch-off tickets or lottery tickets with amounts ranging in $1 to $20 on each ticket. Awesome right?
How to Make a Lottery Christmas Tree
Ready to find out how easy it is to make this lottery tree?! I don’t think this takes longer than 15 minutes from start to finish! Plus, it’s a really easy gift idea for adults! I would say a stocking stuffer however I don’t think this will fit in a stocking lol. Perhaps a mystery card put in a stocking leading to this homemade tree would work?
What You Will Need
Tree Topper
Scratch off Tickets
Pen
Plush Dog (Optional)
First, you will need to start with shaping your tree. My husband helped me out with this because he’s a big stickler for tree shaping lol. I don’t know if it comes across in the picture below but I think he did a pretty nice job.
Once the tree is shaped, you’ll need to add the lights to the tree. The nice thing is if you use portable Christmas lights it makes it easy for the winner of the prize or recipient of the gift to turn the tree lights on and off with just a touch of a switch.
Tip: Don’t forget the batteries
Next, use a pen or pencil and poke the top of the lottery cards. There is an example in the picture below.
This will allow for a small hole for the ornament hook to be put through and stay attached. I personally like it this way but if you have a better way to attach the lottery tickets please feel free to do that! 🙂
Homemade Lottery Ticket Gift Ideas
Lastly, the ornaments can be placed onto the lottery Christmas tree and you’re finished! Turn the lights on and add the tree topper! In this instance, we used a plush dog that was magnetic and held the tree. You could use a small tree topper or create a star of your own. Good Luck!
P.S. Don’t want to use a Christmas tree? What about a wreath (any holiday theme) or birthday! A flower vase for Valentine’s Day or you could use a fake plant.
We have a lottery ticket idea for Mother’s Day you could use for several occasions here!
Have you created a Lottery Tree yet?
