If you have a daughter, chances are you’ve had to throw a party at some point – whether it’s for a birthday, during the summer or just for fun during the weekend.
And while parties can be time consuming, there’s one important thing to remember: how to throw a slumber party correctly.
Because if you don’t, your party could flop– or worse.
So in this blog post, we’ll show you the right way to plan a slumber party, so that your daughter and her friends enjoy it.
Identify Your Type of Party
The first step in creating a slumber party is to identify the type of party you will have. There are different types of celebrations, which means that the way you throw each one will be different.
The most common types of slumber parties are:
What is a Sleepover
When a young person stays overnight at another young person’s home as part of a social event
Pajama Party or Slumber Party
Slumber parties are sleepovers often held as part of a birthday party, girl scout outing, friends’ weekend, or other event. Slumber parties and pajama parties are both essentially the same thing, but include more people.
Also, it often involves girls having fun together playing games, putting on makeup, watching fashion shows, gossiping, and sometimes watching a chick flick.
Slumber parties are a favorite of my daughters. As a mother, foster parent, and aunt, I love hosting them. Weekends have become the time when my kids most enjoy hanging out with their friends.
