Tip: When preparing for this fun holiday food idea. You will want to get a ripe and juicy watermelon, perhaps if you are open to checking your local farms. Often you will find those watermelons are the best and full of flavor!
How do you cut a watermelon into a Christmas tree?
Rinse and dry the watermelon. Next, slice your watermelon into half and then again into slices thick enough for the cookie cutter.
When using the Christmas tree cookie cutter, you will want to make sure the bottom of the cookie cutter (the tree trunk) has the rind. It gives it a more defined look like a real tree.
This isn’t the first time this trick has been shown. I looked through some old holiday cookbooks at a garage sale from the 1980s and saw someone used a knife and cut trees out of a watermelon.
I thought, how creative is that! After I got home, I checked Pinterest and found that using a Christmas tree cookie cutter was the easiest.
This is a great idea for a Christmas in July treat for the summer or a holiday party in the winter.
Either way, I hope you find this idea useful in your kitchen. It sure creates a fun time for party guests.
