Have you ever wondered how to get the kids ready for St. Patrick’s day?
You’ll want to begin with this hilarious Leprechaun Game!
An activity that is such fun for St. Patrick’s day you’ll want to play again and again!
Hilarious Leprechaun Gold Game
In fact, the happy launch of the Hilarious Leprechaun Gold Game is here! If you want to take the fun to the next level this is a must-play for March 17th.
Materials Needed
- Gold Plates
- Black Marker
- St. Patrick’s Day Stickers (optional)
Tip: Stickers could also be used for a parade, dress up, party or on the face!
What is the Hilarious Leprechaun Gold Game
Furthermore, the object of the Hilarious Leprechaun Gold Game is for kids to look and hunt for their Leprechaun name.
Every child will find their piece of “gold” which is a gold plate that is flipped over and kept flipped over until everyone has a piece of gold and back in their group.
Each player will only get 1 plate (1 Leprechaun name) unless you are having them build their name.
A further example would be Mr. on one plate. McTator on the second plate, and Tot on the third plate.
For instance, after building the plates together the Leprechaun name would be Mr. McTator Tot.
Of course, you could use other names too. We will get more into that in a second. 🙂
However, in this case, each piece of gold (plate) will hold their special St. Patrick’s day Leprechaun name.
First, you will need to come up with Leprechaun names and use a black marker and add it to the plate.
Leprechaun Names
Consequently, it could be any names including funny, lucky, charming, or silly. For example, if you need a list of Leprechaun names you can find that here. Otherwise, we list off ten helpful leprechaun names below.
- #1 Silliest Leprechaun
- Stinky Feet
- Sprinkles
- Fearsome
- Lucky
- Tater Tot
- McSmelly

FREE PRINTABLE ALERT!➡️ Silly Leprechaun Name Sheet
This is the type of plate I used for the “gold.”
I recommend using this type of plate because it is a little heavier than a paper plate.
As a result, if there is any wind. The plate should hopefully stay turned upside down so the kids can’t peak at the names.
In the same way, you could either write the silly names or have the kids create a plate with names on it for added fun. It turns out really cute if you do it that way too!
Check out the picture below for an example. I think this would be fantastic for a girl scouts project, classroom, or scouts craft!
St. Patrick’s Day Games for Kids
Get ready for the hunt! You can choose to have small groups or large groups to play this St. Patrick’s day game.
An adult or older child will need to hide all of the Leprechaun Gold.
After the gold is hidden. Each child or player will need to find one piece of gold and bring it back to the finish line without flipping it over.
After everyone is finished and back to the group.
The plates are flipped over and in order from who got back with their gold first until last.
The players will read off their funny Leprechaun names.
In fact, need the best hiding spaces inside or out for games like this? Go here!
Tip: It is important that the plates remain flipped over so the kids don’t see the nameplates first and skip it.
Plus, it makes it really fun when they get to read them off within the group.
