How To Throw a Great Slumber Party
I’m one of those mom’s that love to have birthday parties for my kids. I haven’t been able to do the kind of birthday party that I’ve always wanted to create for my children because we have moved around a lot (prior military family) and now that we are settled. I feel like I can finally create a really nice party for my children to have and remember. It’s important for me to make their birthday’s special (which I try my hardest) but I want their party very special as well.
The biggest thing about the party is that it has to be CREATIVE, FUN, SPECIAL, and BUDGET FRIENDLY.
The first party that is coming up will be for my oldest daughter, she is turning 11 years old. Sometimes it feels like she is going from being ten years old to going on thirteen years old. She is growing so fast! She is our girly-girl. She loves to dress up, wear makeup, jewelry, and nail polish. We limit her makeup because at this age I don’t feel she needs to wear too much makeup but I don’t mind if she plays with it or practices how to wear it. 😉
For starters, I want to throw her a Glam Hollywood/Slumber Party this year. ♥
I have been shopping around and trying to find really cute invitations that look fun and inviting. I found these invitations on ETSY.
Slumber Party Invitations on Etsy
The invitation reads, “Slumber Party Pizza, a movie, and a pillow fight. Stay up late and have lots of fun! Katie is turning eight!” It also has the time, place, and whom to RSVP, and what to bring with the child and the time the party ends.
Hello Jewelry! YES… Icing’s $1 Clearance is back! 😀
The next thing on my list for the party is party favors. I found these beautiful Rhinestone Necklaces from Icing originally $24.98 a $1 a piece ←and got them for a $1 a piece. Woot! These are going to be the talk of the party. Each girl will have a matching necklace that has beautiful shiny flower rhinestones on it. It will be adorable for the photo shoot.
Icing also has lots of other jewelry, accessories, hair pieces, body art, and more for $1 and up go here to see what they have on clearance.
If these are not your thing that’s okay… I still highly suggest taking a look at their clearance section because they have a TON of great items that you can use as party favors, items to use for holiday/events, maybe even for crazy hair day at school.
Happy Birthday Message
I love this idea! I already have the window markers from my husband’s welcome home ceremony when he got back from his last deployment. I will use those window markers to create a beautiful “Birthday Message” and the total cost of that will be… $0. Woot!
Perfect Diva Gift
This will make for a great birthday gift idea! I love the colors and I know my daughter would love the Justice gift card. This is a great idea from Blupla.
Movie Night
To give the Glamour of Hollywood effect and make the kids feel like stars I am going to use-inspired ideas from Pinterest and Party City. You can find all of these decorations at Party City. I suggest checking out the Dollar Store as well because a lot of times they have some “Movie Night” items that will be less expensive and they have plain star balloons at most locations as well. 😉
What an Entrance
How cool would this be to have the kids’ names on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame?” 😀
Popcorn Bar
I love this idea for the party from Pen+Paper Flowers! ♥ This could be done very inexpensively as well.
Tip: Little Caesar’s Pizza has their Large Pizza’s for $5 if you ask they can cut them into slices of 16. The pieces are smaller but they go a long way. 😉
