It’s easy to make a fruit tray with bees since you can make them in so many different shapes and sizes. This design was inspired by a baby shower that had a bee and willow snack tray table. It was so cute!
Creating a Honey Bee Tray can be a fun and easy party theme if you’re looking for a buzzy idea.
Are you a busy bee wondering what kind of fruit tray you would make under time constraints? If so, wonder no more!
Let us take a look at some of the key attributes of a honey tray that will have your guests drooling!
But first…
What Is Honey Bee Tray?
This honey bee tray looks like a fruit platter with a bee theme.
The result is a fruit bee consisting of pineapple, strawberries, black grapes, and honeydew.
It’s one of the easiest ways to make a bee fruit dessert! Several elaborate recipes for fruit platters can be found on Pinterest, but I prefer simple and fun ideas like this bumble bee fruit platter.
Making a bee fruit tray isn’t too difficult to do. Preparing your fruit to be diced and cleaned before assembling just takes a few minutes.
Bee Fruit Tray Ingredients
- Grapes – black fruit
- Pineapple – yellow fruit
- Strawberries – red fruit
- Honeydew – green fruit
- Leaf Lettuce – Contrast
The first thing you need to do is lay out the lettuce leaves.
Next, you will add the pineapples. The easiest part is to lay out the wings first.
Your next step will be to cover the honeybee’s body in black grapes. I think black raspberries would work nicely too. The dark purple grape varieties aren’t quite as dark as bumblebees but may work if needed. The spaces between the bee’s body (pineapples) must be filled with black grapes. As you can see, the platter is beginning to resemble a bee.
In my case, I used an oval platter for the bee tray, but I think a rectangular platter would also work well. It was in the party decor section of Dollar Tree where I found my platter.
Keep the black and yellow shape but fill the rest of the tray with strawberries and honeydew. Adding more fruit always makes your fruit tray look better.
To complement the red fruit, you can also use green grapes or kiwi. You can choose whichever fruit you prefer or is in season where you live.
Conclusion
Honey bee trays make a great addition to your spring and summer decor – perfect for a bee themed dessert tray, a baby shower, a birthday party centerpiece, a garden party, a flower decor party, a farmhouse party, or an outdoor barbecue. If you want, you can even turn it into a hive tray.
I love this bee and snack tray table idea. You don’t need to spray the fruit trees with bee safe fruit tree spray to be around this insect, lol. Additionally, you could also have a honey dipper flowing with honey next to it or make it into a honeycomb shape. Whatever you do I’m sure it’s going to look super cool.
What fruit platters have you made? What kind of food have you served at parties?
