Cleveland Aquarium Review
I’m about to take you into an underwater world like never before. You’ll get to see our experience and take on our adventure with our Cleveland Aquarium Review. Have you been to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium?
The thing I liked most about when you first walked in, is the display of nature from the Ohio lakes and rivers. It was so cool to see what we have living in our backyard. You have to see this huge Catfish they have there. Trust me, this fish looks much bigger in person! My daughter gave him the nickname “Hugey.” LOL.
It doesn’t stop there! Take advantage of viewing exhibits from Asia & Indonesia, the Rainforest, the Coastal Boardwalk, the Shark Gallery, and more. Each exhibit will not disappoint, you will be mesmerized by the color and look of some of the fish throughout the aquarium. I know we certainly were!
Tortoise Experience at Cleveland Aquarium
The first experience we encountered was the tortoise experience. There were signs to read information about their history along with an Aquarium team member sharing information about the Tortoises.
The kids were fascinated and enjoyed having the opportunity to touch their shells. One of my daughters said the shell felt like a rock. It made my son wonder what the Ninja Turtle shells felt like, lol.
The highlight of the Cleveland Aquarium Review
One of our favorite parts was the Stingrays. This little guy, in particular, seemed so excited to see us, lol. He would swim back and forth in our direction and follow us as we walked from one end of the exhibit to the other. It was pure adorableness, lol. I wanted to take him home with me. 🙂
The other reason we liked this stop was the Stingray encounter. We had six people in our group that day and all of us wanted to touch a stingray.
Guess what?! All six of us get to scratch that off our bucket lists because it was easier than we thought. Yay!!!
That experience was AWESOME!!! It is also included with the ticket price. Here is some advice to help make it successful for all of you…
Tip: There are stools for the little ones to stand on for better access to the rays. The best and easiest area to stand for the little ones to touch them was on the left side of the exhibit. It allowed for better access to the stingrays because they had to come closer to the surface due to the rocks in the enclosure.
It’s also important to know that you can only use two fingers (make a peace sign) and can only go into the water wrist deep. Good luck! 🙂
Shark Seatube Experience at the Cleveland Aquarium
Lastly, this experience is the most thrilling, and the favorite among everyone in our group. Have you ever wanted to dive into the ocean, swim with the sharks, or see what it would be like to walk under the water on the ocean floor? The Shark Seatube Experience allows you to see a glimpse into just that.
The environment that surrounds you makes you feel as though you are in their world. From various rock formations, some of the smaller fish can feel at home in, to the shipwreck that sits a little more at the one end. All of this really makes you feel as if you are in the shark’s backyard.
Speaking of which, take on the thrill of coming face to face with a gigantic Sand Shark as it swims over you, or take on a selfie with it behind you.
Another really cool sight in the Seatube is seeing some of the smaller fish swim in schools right over your head. This Shark Seatube experience is one not to miss.

Aquariums are great for kids. I often take my grandkids to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. They always have such a good time and leave learning something new. Looks like you had a great time.

Thanks, Tina! It was a wonderful experience and one I highly recommend. Especially if you’re traveling to Ohio or live close.

What a fun day! I love visiting aquariums, I have only been to the Vancouver aquarium, as a teenager they still had the Killer whales there, which was my favourite exhibit. Then again with my own kids years later, it really wasn’t the same, even though I understand why they closed the exhibit. I’d be interested to see the Shark exhibit at the Cleveland aquarium for sure!
Cas says
That sounds really neat to see a Whale exhibit. The Shark Seatube is a must see for sure! It was really thrilling!
