First, you will need to glue the fan handle to the plate. Likewise, you could also cut a circle or oval out of cardboard to make a turkey head.
Second, you will need to cover the plate with brown construction paper.
Third, still using construction paper. You will need to cut out white circles and black circles for the eyeballs.
After that, a yellow beak and a red beard.
To complete the turkey craft you will need to cut out feathers and glue them to the back. We choose yellow, orange, red, and green feathers. Here is an example, below.
Now, this could be just a fun Thanksgiving craft or you can take it up a level. In fact, that’s exactly what we did. We created a Turkey game for kids!
The only thing you need to add is a balloon.
That is where this Thanksgiving game turns into a balloon swat with Turkeys.
How to Play
For this part, you will need a balloon. It could be a small balloon or a large balloon. Each player will take a turn swatting the balloon with the turkeys back and forth.
In addition, the player to miss the balloon results in the opponent receiving a point.
Likewise, the player that reaches 10 points first in the game will win.
My kiddos had fun playing this DIY turkey game for quite a while! It made them laugh when the balloon would hit the feathers and was still returned to the other player. Also, the turkeys held up well for every round.
