The Best Part About This Pumpkin Drop Game
The best part about this Minute To Win It game is you can choose to play it indoor or outdoor. It could be used for a Fall party game, at a carnival or festival, at a PTO party, Trunk or Treat, Girl Scout or Scouts camp, or even played in your backyard!
This pumpkin drop isn’t like something the Physics or Astronomy Club would partake in. We are not even using a real pumpkin, lol.
However, it is a fun challenge that most kids would be happy to join in on! Could you imagine the expression on your child’s face when they race over the finish line, still holding their pumpkins! #excited
Tip for a Fall Festival: Create a hashtag with your last name or business/organization name to share the pictures with everyone on Instagram.
Pumpkin Game
Ready to learn how to make the pumpkin game? To begin, You will need to save your toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, or leftover gift wrap paper tubes. You will need at least four of whichever you choose.
First, cut a stem out of green glitter foam paper sheets.
Second, I cut two of the same size, stuck them back to back together, and placed them on the plastic ball.
After that, you will need to use a black marker and draw a jack o lantern face on the ball. Then, you will want to do the same thing to three more balls. This way, you can have two players who will be racing with two jack o lanterns each.
Lastly, that’s it! You’ve created the jack o lanterns you need for your Pumpkin Drop Game!
How to Play the Minute to Win It Pumpkin Drop Game
No need to dim the lights! Play this Minute to Win It Pumpkin Drop game inside or outside. You could play this game with one or two players (more is optional). What you will need to do is pick a starting and ending point. The competitors will have one minute on the clock.
Allow the players to move from the starting point to the finish line as fast as they want as long as they keep the pumpkins on the toilet paper rolls. If the pumpkin drops, they have to start all over again. And no cheating lol, if they try to use any portion of their body or the other pumpkin in their opposite hand, they have to start over as well.
It can be tricky, but it is a lot of fun to play. The person that can make it across to the finish line with their pumpkins still on the holders and within the fastest time will win.
Another option for each round to make it harder would be to use Paper towel rolls for holders and then empty gift wrap tubes. This will make the game harder with each step.
Wrapping Up
You can’t plant, grow, or harvest these pumpkins or punkins, lol. In fact, you also can’t bake them into pies, tarts, cookies, cakes, or even muffins! However, you can race them across the finish line and serve up a fun game for the kids with this tutorial! Good Luck! 🙂
