What you will need
Ready to do something Santa and his elves would be proud of?
In fact, you are welcome to build this project from scratch or you can use leftover pieces from the other crafts as we did here.
Instead of throwing the entire project away, I wanted to recycle the pieces.
Keeping this project budget-friendly!
With my kiddos being so bored lately… this gave them an opportunity to do a fun Christmas in July project.
How to Make a Bow Project
First, using the leftover pieces. We cut the pieces into a D shape. They almost look like pink tongues don’t they, lol.
The D comes to mind for December.
If you are starting from scratch just use a cardboard piece and cover it with whatever color duct tape you’d like.
After that, using the drill, add the holes for the yarn. I found it easiest to use a drill bit to push the yarn through the hole; this kept it from fraying.
The yarn makes it easy for them to slide their feet through.
Next, if you want to turn this into a fun activity.
We turned ours into a fun game for July.
What we did was, made it a bit of a challenge. Each player, one at a time, adds bows to the top of the feet and walks the lane.
The child with the most amount of bows left on their feet when they cross the finish line will win a prize.
Keep in mind with the big Christmas bow craft we don’t peel the back of the bows off of the bow.
For example, this allows the bows to be used again and again.
As well as, the colorful bows will fall off the cardboard during the game giving it a more challenging aspect.
This Christmas bow game could easily be played indoor or outdoor with toddlers, preschoolers, elementary kids, or people of any age.
My kids enjoyed playing in the backyard but it’s perfect for Christmas party games too!
We hope you find some fun with this!
